For almost 50 years dental implants have been recognised by dental experts as an effective procedure for teeth replacement, when teeth cannot be saved by other dental treatments.
Implants are artificial tooth roots made of titanium or ceramic.
They actually mimic the shape and size of roots and thereby they serve as an anchor for other dental prostheses such as crowns, bridges and dentures.
Implants are surgically placed into the jawbone, and are not visible once surgically inserted.
The healing process allows the implant to bond with the surrounding bone structure. This is called osseointegration. They are stable eliminating the need for removable prostheses (partial dentures)
